Who would win in a fight shaolin monk versus ninja?

A NINJA....MONKS WERE TRAINED TO DEFEND THEMSELVES, NINJA'S ARE TRAINED ASSASSINS AND ARE TRAINED TO KILL

Who would win in a fight shaolin monk versus ninja?
Ninjas because they fight with great stealth and they have a katana blade with them.
Reply:ninja and shaolin would have no quarrel under normal circumstances. however if under "extraordinary" circumstances they did quarrel the ninja would win due to the element of surprise... and yes trixter an extremely sharp "katana" blade the most efficient "killing tool" of its time.... they also used the touch of death with great accuracy. a n inja also over comes the chaotic element by "choosing his time and place" to make a kill. plus a shaolin monk is taught "not to kill" whilst a ninja is taught "to kill" also whilst the shaolin monk is preoccupied with "satisfying" the will of budda the ninjas only intent is to kill. p.s. if you want more details on why just ask for more details on why. jeet kune do can be applied to any martial art so a ninja could use it against Bruce lee, my hero and a legend. I could beat Bruce lee if I had no morals. (he is dead already.) chuck is the real contender
Reply:I still say Bruce Lee would take them both.
Reply:The one who got the advantage and pressed it. No one knows beforehand who will win in a real fight. The chaotic element is one that cannot be predicted.

P.S. A ninja cannot always choose the time and place to make a kill. I know from experience that even a ninja can be surprised; and if someone gets past the blade of the nin-to or katana to the wielder or inside/outside of the blade's range, no amount of sharpness will make it effective. There are tricks, but they don't always work.

P.P.S. I'm beginning to think the answerer above me may be right...Bruce Lee was awesome and not tied to one style. Cheers!
Reply:Chuck Norris !!!
Reply:Chuck Norris indeed!
Reply:It depends on how the fight begins. If there were just a staged fight with both of them in a ring, no weapons I have to say the Monk. In the event they are simply enemies and the ninja has an opportunity to sneak up and use weapons, I would say the ninja. In the event that they BOTH were enemies of the U.S. I would say a Marine Corps sniper would pick them both off.

wait wait my bad i meant chuck NORRIS whats wrong with me. im sorry chuck norris wow i cant believe i called the all-mighty chuck norris, chuck liddell
Reply:First, katana's were used by samuari. They were used by ninjas as a disguise. Ninja's used whatever was available to their advantage didn't want to fight in plain sight and such unless it was part of their disguise.

As far as shaolin monks, there were warrior monks and non-combative monks. As it is now, Shaolin monks are amazing acrobats and modern wushu experts. Now a days there are few real ninja training areas and teahers. Stephen Haynes left the study as did others to start their own (although some moved back to that study).

If it was a straight fight against a warrior monk... the monk. If it was any other time the ninja. If it was modern times I would say a marien special forces or a Navy Seal. They do pick the battle time and the equipment to be used.

Just my thoughts
Reply:neither, because of thier poor unrealistic training techniques they would both spontaneously combust the moment they stepped within ten feet of each other because that much crappy training cannot exist in such close vecinity to each other without serious consequences.
Reply:if it is hand-hand combat shaolin monks will win... GO SHAOLIN MONKS!!!!!!
Reply:There are several good answers to this question. Anyone who said Chuck Norris, you are correct (or Chuck Liddell, I'll let it slide this time). And some how Bluto's spontaneous combustion theory is correct too.
Reply:The laws of the universe prevent such concentrations of suck from being created.
