Which is more superior martial arts? The shaolin kung fu or taichi chuans?

If it had to be between the 2 you gave I would say Shaolin.

But there is no single "Superior Martial Art", although many will argue that the early UFC"s proved that GJJ (Gracie Jiu-Jitsu) proved to be the superior.

Which is more superior martial arts? The shaolin kung fu or taichi chuans?
None, Taekwondo is the way to go, if under the right instruction it surpasses the others by far
Reply:There are no superior or inferior martial arts. Different people practice different arts for different reasons.

That's it. Last time I answer one of those. I mean it this time. I swear.
Reply:tai chi,even though it's slow,it's very powerful and strong!
Reply:Tai Chi is practiced in Shaolin Temple
Reply:What would you like to hear? Here's a list of pros and cons: you decide and then your decision will be better than what another can Tell you. By the by though, this is a very external look at things. There is no way you could grasp the subtleties of each one just by what we write down for you.

Shaolin: Gives you martial abilities quite "fast" and looks good

Tai Chi: Takes longer to grasp the martial side but you will actually increase in ability as you get older. There is not a point where you have to say "oh, I can no longer do any of my techniques"

Sh: "good looking" body. Will make you physically and mentally fit

TC: will make you fit and healthy

Sh: can make your body rough and course or an injured body later on in life due to too high a training routine.

TC: will keep you soft yet strong, pliable but like steel

Sh: learns tai chi later on as they are no longer able to perform all the moves that they once could (one reason anyway) and they knew that they had to learn to soften themselves (also had to do with their history)

e.g. they had to train the monks for combat quite quickly and the shaolin styles were what they thought were better for that task. But, as they got older, they had to find a way to counterbalance all of those years of hard and grueling training which is why they have included Tai Chi within their curriculum's.

TC: doesn't wait to start learning, you start from day one.

Hope this helps.
Reply:This very difficult to answer as you get out of each what you want.

However Kung Fu was originally derrived from Tai Chi, so in essence they are really the same but with different variations.

Reply:Tai Chi is better for fighting slow motion opponents, like the bionic man. Shaolin is better for fighting animals.
Reply:well...kung fu was what shaolin practitioners took before they were even admitted for taking tai chi lessons. T'ai chi means ultimate fist (i believe) and no one could learn the art of tai chi without first mastering kung fu. At least, that's the way it USED to be. Now you can take tai chi separately or at the same time.

In the old days, tai chi would be considered the master art, while kung fu the beginner's art.
Reply:SHOREI-GOJU,old school almost extinct due to no one can handle it ,only 1 master remains that is known of!
