Reply:Learn wrestling. Practice it on your neighbors. I gave this girl down the street a piledriver and she was out cold for a week.
Reply:Not to insult your dad, but a few helpfull questions to ask yourself to make sure you are training effectively.

1- are you training against a fully resisting opponent?

2- have you ever been able to use your stuff sparring?

shaolin is generally one of the most common styles that frauds and crappy trainers exist in. Be carefull. not saying your dad is, but it is likely he might not know better.

CMA (chinese martial arts) in general is known for poor training and large numbers of teachers that just do forms and don't ever train with resisting opponents so they have no idea if thier techniques work.

Finding a school in a large metropolitan area that teaches CMA legitimately and realistically that you can actually use in a fight is difficult, in arkansas I would say it is near impossible.

my advice to you would be to find a more sportative style and incorporate it into what you have already learned, at the very least you might pick up a few things to add to your repotiore and test if what you were taught, actually works.

I say sportative style like boxing, judo, bjj, muai thai, etc. because on average those schools do train hard and use realistic training so there is not much of a chance you are going into a school that gives excuses for not training realistically.
