Does shaolin kung fu have belt colours like karate if not then what??

Kung Fu does not use color "belts", they use colored sashes. Although I'm not sure about Shaolin Kung Fu, To the best of my knowledge true Shaolin Kung Fu do not use colored sashes at all.
