Shaolin Monks or Black Belts?

Who is more powerful? Who can kick whose A$S?

Shaolin Monks or Black Belts?
Shaolin Monks hands down. They spend almost all their waking hours training %26amp; meditating. They have no distractions. They can do things that, had I not seen them, I would never have believed humans could do.
Reply:I disagree, their are MA such as myself that have been training since I was 5, whats the differance, I made it my dedication too? Still comes to the better fighter i say. Report It

Reply:Shaolin warriors, just ask Ol Dirty, Method Man, RZA, GZA , Ghostface, Rae-Kwon. Wu-Tang forever!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:Monks. The eat (a little) sleep (a little) meditate (a lot) train (a lot).

I've seen tapes of them doing things that I would never have thought a human being could possibly do.
Reply:Shaolin Monks. They spend more time training than most anyone else anywehere. In truth they do very little else. Most Black Belts had so man other concerns that even those that teach don't have the time do devote to training.
Reply:shaolin monks
Reply:Which black belts? I'll put my moneys on someone like Dean Lister who have black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or Hideko Yoshida who is a black belt in judo to tear up Shaolin Monks.

Black belt from your local corner mcdojo against a monk, probably monk.
Reply:And which shaolin monks?

A standard master's answer to your question is that a more skillfull and open minded (confrontation wise) master wins, even with a chess board on your ears.

I do both judo and kungfu (wushu) for quite a while, and my answer is that shaolin kungfu has everything other martial arts have: throws, grips, holds, twists, suffocating technics, and much more.

It is just not every kungfu practitioner, including the modern monks of shaolin, takes it as seriously as the Brazilians do. The monks just do not need to survive as the modern Brazilians or as they, the monks, had to centures ago wandering in the jungles of central China.

Also, any wrestling technic is ONE-AGAINST-ONE, whereas the shaolin kungfu (and the Chinese wushu in general) is against multiple attackers WITH knives and all. Who will put money on two brazilian black belts against two shaolin kungfu masters, all with knives or even simple chop-sticks???????????

Finnaly, Wusu is the foundation of most Asian martial arts including the Japanese martial arts (the cradle of the "black belts").

So, if you want to kick your friends asses one on one, go to judo. But then, be ready for more serious fightings and carry on guns to every restaurant you go. Just remember that pulling out a gun may take a lifetime.
Reply:It doesnt matter if it is a Monk or a BB, it comes down to to individuals paired up against one another. The person makes the style work for them not the other way around. So I would say the winner would be the smarter, more experienced adaptable fighter between the two.
Reply:Monks. They live the life of a martial artist, not just practice it, and are closer to the top of the martial arts ladder than others.
Reply:Monks.

Most black best focus on mostly technique, power and skill while the Monks focus on energy flow (Chi) and as much the mental side of martial arts as they do the physical.
Reply:black belts because they can own guns.... ching ching pow will beat kung fu any day....
Reply:Well, a Shaolin monk has the utmost respect for human life so i doubt one would willingly fight.

Black belt? Rank has no meaning. I know black belts who bought a video on the Internet and feel they are "masters" while I also know others who have trained for 20 years to obtain the rank of black belt.

So, the winner would be the one who walks away. The quality and frequency of their training will dictate their performance under pressure.
Reply:Bruce leeroy or Kung Fu Joe would own them all.

They kick the most ***.
Reply:Shaolin Monks
Reply:my answer is monk

black belt just a representive for a mutual martial art trainer, but they only expert in only a area or a type of technique. as we say, judo, most of the time learned in grab technique...black belt in judo doesnt mean that he/she is black belt in karate or taekwon or something else..they still have their weakness on fighting..
