Fake Shaolin Kung Fu?

theres a school nearby that teaches Shaolin Kung Fu, Tai Chi, and some usage with swords,chain,spears,and staff. it is a chinese cultural center, located in san jose california... the teacher is chinese and speaks english a little... when i first went there..a yellow belt was playing some sort of soccer.. is this a fake shaolin school?

No, the Chinese use soccer to warm you up...They believe it is a good way to get you warm enough to stretch you legs. If he is from PR China, he may be teaching contemporary wushu. IF He or She is from Taiwan or Hong Kong, they may be teaching real Kung Fu

Reply:Do they have a website or anything we could look at? That would help. I don't know that much of shaolin kung fu, i did practice praying mantis kung fu under a fairly respected sifu, till i figured out he was stealing my money and not teaching me anything useful. Its really hard to say, i think if its a shaolin school and not in shaolin, dosent that make it automatically fake? It would still be fun to learn even it was fake.
Reply:When I took a karate. They suggested to jog. Playing soccer is a way to stay in shape. To be good in karate is to stay in shape.

In truly taditional kung fu there are 3 ranks student teacher master who is the founder of the system and usually long dead.
